About The Role As a Senior Data Analyst, you will take a leading role within our small and effective engineering team, driving the strategy for how we analyse complex data from our global IoT applications. You will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of data projects, from researching cutting-edge AI/ML techniques to presenting actionable insights to clients. Your expertise will be crucial in unlocking the value from data gathered in challenging environments, including from wind turbines, trains, and escalators.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the end-to-end process of collating, processing, and analysing complex datasets, including strain, vibration, audio, and image signals.
  • Owning the research, identification, and implementation of advanced Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solutions to enhance our analytical methods.
  • Mentoring junior team members and promoting best practices in data analysis.
  • Serving as a key liaison between the data team and the wider engineering team, applying complex calculations and simulations to data.
  • Architecting and developing client-facing reports and dashboards to communicate findings effectively.

Skills & Experience (Essential):

  • 5+ years of experience in a data analysis, data science, or a related role.
  • Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL for complex data manipulation and analysis.
  • A proven track record of successfully implementing AI/ML models in a commercial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of statistical analysis and broad engineering principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead projects and communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • An innate desire to achieve elegant, high-quality output in all work.

Skills & Experience (Desirable):

  • Significant experience working with signal data (strain, vibration, audio) or computer vision.
  • Experience in the mechanical engineering field.
  • Experience mentoring or managing junior colleagues.
